- 8بالنسبة إلى المجموعات السكانية الناطقة بالعربية في السودان وفي البلدان الأخرى في الإقليم، هناك قضية قد تشكل تحدياً جديا، للرؤية المضادة للثورة، المتبنية للتقسيم الجماعاتي الثقافي السائد، على نحو مماثل لتأثير النضال الفلسطيني على الشمال الكوكبي، وهي قضية تحرير الصحراء الغربية. تطرح الصحراء الغربية أسئلة تحرير تمثل تحدياً لبعض سياسات الهوية في أفريقيا و المجموعات السكانية المُسلمة، بما أن الصحراويين والمغاربة كلاهما أمم مسلمة وأفريقية. لذا فإن نضال الصحراء الغربية جديرٌ بالانتباه الاستراتيجي من قبل الحركات الثورية الُمهتمة بتعزيز التفكير النقدي الثوري بين الجماهير في الإقليم، كما أنه يستحق الانتباه أيضاً نسبةً للالتزام المبدئي حيال تحرير الشعوب وتقرير المصير.
