أستاذ مساعد للتاريخ المعاصر في جامعة جرونينجن في هولندا (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen). في كتابه «نهاية العمل: كيف أدّى وعد الأتمتة إلى تدهور العمل» (منشورات جامعة إلينوي، 2022)، يستكشف المؤلف الأصول الأيديولوجية للأتمتة في الولايات المتحدة في منتصف القرن العشرين. وكان في السابق منظِّماً لاتحاد عمّال السيّارات المتّحدين.
